A Fruitful Fruitcake

People say that I cannot be separated from the Christmas Holidays. Well, I do agree with all of them. As and when my aroma fills the entire household, the little children bask around me to have a nice time with my company. They laugh and prance; they dance in merriment; they cannot wait to have a bite of a fruitcake. All these mirthful moments make my cup of bliss overflow.

I know, yes, I do know that as soon as I am sliced into pieces, I have to breathe my last. Still, I embrace such demise of mine without any tears and without any fumbling. Do you know why? Just to behold the smile in every visage… Absolutely, I do love to sacrifice my life for a regaling reason.

In this regard, I must mention that whenever the bakers mix up the batter with lots of fruits like apricots, dates, raisins or currants of various kinds, cashews, almonds, pistachios, tutti-frutti and, most importantly, with lots of love and cheer, I cannot hold my tears back at all. I know that I must succumb right then and there but there is no wonder that I shed tears of joy and peace.

Although I know that I will fail to behold the next days in my life, I can embrace demise with lots of gratification and kindness, knowing that I am going to decease for a sweet and loving cause. I am sacrificial like a burning candle, but my message cannot be overlooked at all. Faith, Goodwill, Mirth, Kindness, Peace, Benevolence, Purity, Innocence, Charity, Fortitude, Mercy, Divinity and so on and so forth get mingled in my blissful death of benediction. I give up my life for better days to come every year. Hence, I do consider my death to be very much well-deserving and pretty much gifted.
